Even more variety
Active in the Zugspitz Arena
The holiday region Tiroler Zugspitz Arena is also the perfect location for many other activities besides hiking and biking. Take a refreshing swim in the natural mountain lakes, try to make your best tee shot while golfing or enjoy the historic sights of the holiday villages around Ehrwald. This variety makes a summer holiday in Ehrwald even more exciting.
Riding in Ehrwald
All guests of our holiday apartments DER SONNENHANG in Ehrwald are welcome to enjoy a nice horse ride without additional charges. We are happy to organize a horse for you, though this is of course subject to availability. You can ride at the riding ground or take your horse out for a ride, if you are proficient enough. The stables are in the neighbouring village, only a 5-minutes car drive away.
Culture in and around Ehrwald
Ehrwald’s village centre boasts to have one of the most beautiful village squares of the region Tirol, the Martinsplatz. But the surrounding communities also have some attractive sights that are worth a visit. We highly recommend visiting the baroque guild church in Bichlbach as well as the adventure museum Zugspitze. Learn more about Tyrolean traditions during the annual Almabtrieb event, when cattle are ceremoniously driven down from the mountain pastures into the valley in autumn, or the procession of "Krampus", "Perchten" and "Einscheller".
"kick with view"
The highline179 in Reutte
Experience the "kick with view" on the "longest swing bridge in the world in Tibet style" in Reutte. The swing bridge impresses with a height of 114 meters and connects the ruin Ehrenberg with the Fort Claudia. This requires courage and a head for heights!
